It’s incredible how secluded Buderim Forest Park feels, especially being so close to the centre of Buderim.
The Falls Loop is a short, 45-minute loop that takes you straight to Buderim Falls (also known as Serenity Falls). While the start of the trail is along a wide boardwalk, accessible for wheelchairs and prams, the last part of the walk to the falls is along a non-accessible track.
Once you get to the falls, you can soak in the views from the Serenity Bridge or continue walking up the hillier Forest Loop circuit. Swimming at the base of the falls isn’t recommended, though you can walk through some of the small rock pools.
While Mooloolaba Beach is just a 15-minute drive from Buderim, it feels like a world away from Buderim.
This beach escape has it all, from white sand and calm waves to a beachfront esplanade full of restaurants, cafes, and boutiques.
Mooloolaba Beach is patrolled year-round and is an ideal spot for little ones to go for a swim.
This active lighthouse was built in the 1970s and sits atop a headland, so you know the ocean views are going to be worth it. It’s less than a 250-metre gentle walk up to the lighthouse from the carpark.
Once you’re at the top, you can stay for a picnic, check out the sunrise, or even try and spot some whales.
Head to Amaze World for a fun family day out, where you’ll find a hedge maze, mini golf, timber maze, and other brain-teasing mazes and puzzles.
There’s something for kids of all ages, including augmented reality experiences, a nature playground, and water play area. The park is well-shaded throughout, with comfortable areas to relax.
This iconic Sunshine Coast attraction is equal parts entertaining and nostalgic. Entry to the Big Pineapple is free, while you can pay extra to ride the Pineapple Train or visit the zoo.

Hamptons Espresso is an ode to coastal New York and strives to bring a piece of Long Island to the Sunny Coast.
