“I was hoping we might win, but never really expected we would!” - Kerryn, winner of Draw 515.
Wayne had been working as a builder for 50 years.
His wife, Kerryn, was working a full-time job, while also running the admin side of their business.
One Saturday, Kerryn was doing Wayne’s bookwork (while he worked) when she saw an ad for Prize Home Draw 515 and bought tickets.
Winning this $3.1 million prize allowed Wayne and Kerryn to retire and enjoy time together.
Wayne now has the time and the resources to enjoy some of his favourite pastimes, like fishing and woodworking, while both of them now have more time to spend with their grandson.
“My husband loves to walk around the house singing, which warms my heart to see him so happy and relaxed and how much he genuinely loves the house.
“He loves the open plan style, high ceilings, and of course appreciates the detail and workmanship put into the house.”
For Kerryn, it’s such a relief to have time to take a breath, smell the roses, and enjoy the endless opportunities that winning a Prize Home brings.
For a year after their win, Wayne and Kerryn were dividing their time between their Gladstone home and their new Buderim home.
After deciding that their Buderim abode was always meant to be their home, they sold their home in Gladstone – with instructions to the real estate agent to donate a portion of the sale to Kids Helpline!
“It’s such a worthy cause; it’s inspired me to purchase tickets for friends and family. It helps your cause but may also be a life-changing gift for someone special.”
Since moving in, Wayne and Kerryn have made their house their own by erecting a shed and installing a roller gate in their yard.
They’ve fully embraced the Sunshine Coast lifestyle and enjoy fishing, beach walks, and basking in the endless sunshine. What a life!
