As a single mum working full-time, Kirsty had barely any time to spend with her two children.
She was battling away on her own, working night shifts, and had a car that was just about gone.
Kirsty had bought extra tickets just days before the home was drawn – little did she know it would be one of those extra tickets that would win first prize!
“I knew Tracey’s name immediately, but I just thought it was a $500 prize.”
But it wasn’t a $500 prize — Kirsty had won Prize Home Draw 510, a $2.38 million prize that included a home in Buderim, an $80K BMW voucher, and $100K gold.
As a Sunshine Coast resident, Kirsty was able to see her new home straight away.
“I didn’t see the kids for an hour, they ran around the house and picked their bedrooms, and I picked mine of course.”
After her big win, Kirsty went from being a full-time vet nurse to working part-time, so she could have the time to enjoy her home.
Kirsty has since sold her beautiful Buderim Prize Home for a lovely profit and has downsized, which has allowed her to retire and spend more time with her kids.
"I also brought all of the amazing furniture with us to our new (modest) home. It's weird not working but my kids keep me busy. Life could not be better than what it is right now."
And even though she’s already won a Prize Home, Kirsty still has one ticket in every Prize Home Draw.
“I don’t expect to win again but it’s such a worthy cause. Good luck to everyone who buys a ticket; someone has to win.”
