Every 90 seconds a young person reaches out to Kids Helpline – but what if no one answered?

Archie, now a Kids Helpline counsellor, can relate to feeling alone as a young person.

“I often encountered experiences of feeling like there was nobody to talk to when I had challenging thoughts or big emotions. I remember calling Kids Helpline on a particularly overwhelming day. Being listened to, having someone take time to understand what I was sharing, without judgement, and being reminded that I was not alone – it was a powerful encounter that changed my view on the world.

Your tickets power Kids Helpline

It’s thanks to the generosity of yourtown Prize Home supporters that Kids Helpline can continue to answer the calls of young people across Australia.

A critical safety net for children and young people aged 5-25, Kids Helpline is not only free but available anytime, anywhere and for any reason.

From dealing with loneliness to struggling with mental health, navigating family stress or bullying, for more than 30 years Kids Helpline has answered those calls.

Last year that saw Kids Helpline’s tertiary qualified counsellors provide over 70,000 counselling sessions – with 70% of all contacts occurring outside of standard business hours.

Every ticket you buy brings us closer to answering more calls, offering guidance, and helping young people feel less alone during what can be a difficult time.

“When that last school bell rings in December, there will be many children and young people who are cut off from their main supports. Not only have they lost school as their safe place, their local services will also shut down for Christmas. But not us. Kids Helpline is there 24/7 every single day of the year. We’re the support they can turn to when there are no other supports.”

- Amanda, Kids Helpline Counsellor

This Christmas we’re asking for your help ensure those calls for help are answered.
